The COVID-19 pandemic has caused significant disruption to our Health Service, not just in the delivery of front line services but also the development of new treatments. However, The UK’s Cell and Gene Therapy (CGT) Catapult revealed that despite the impact of COVID-19 on many industries, the number of advanced therapy medicinal product (ATMP) clinical trials continued to grow in 2020.

The Advanced Therapies Wales programme continues to support the development of the sector in Wales by working with colleagues from organisations such as the NHS, academia, commercial and charitable sectors, at both a national and UK level.
